In a recent interview, EA CEO John Riccitiello stated that despite the recent restructuring at Electronic Arts (which led to the loss of over 1500 jobs), the company remains committed to the development of new IP. Riccitiello recently lashed out at other publishers, stating that he “believe[s] there are publishers out there that are milking franchises at their peril. […] But I think we owe our customer […] quality and innovation that really blows their minds every time we put a product out there.”
Riccitiello stated that Electronic Arts will be able to maintain it’s intended plans for innovation and new intellectual property in 2010 and 2011, despite the recent layoffs at many EA studios.
