Nintendo released its sales numbers today for the American and European markets. The DS has set a record for the most console sales in a calendar year, while the Wii has sold three million Wii units in December alone.  Topping Wii sales for games is the recently released New Super Mario Bros. Wii, selling four million copies since its launch last November.

The European markets have also reported high numbers for Nintendo with the DS selling 40 million units since March 2005, a record for consoles.  The Wii itself has sold 20 million since its launch in December of 2006 which is another record, the fastest a home console has reached 20 million. New Super Mario Bros. Wii has sold 2.5 million copies in the European market; while Wii Sports Resorts has hit the almost reached the five million mark. In total the Wii Fit franchise has sold 9.6 million units.

  1. So does that mean that Reggie was right that NSMBW would beat one version of MW2 is correct, going on the PS3 sales, and definitely beat the PC sales.
