Microsoft Game Studios and Ruffian Studios have announced that Crackdown 2, the sequel to 2007’s open world crime-fighter, will be released for the Xbox 360 on July 9th in the United Kingdom. A specific release date for the United States has not yet been made available. Similar to the first instalment, players will take on the role of an Agent tasked with the removal of organized crime syndicates from Pacific City.
The game will include competitive playmodes available for up to 16 players, and will also allow up to four players to take on crime in Pacific City cooperatively. According to the developer, transition between single, cooperative and competitive playmodes will be seamless. The multiplayer aspect of the game has been detailed in a short ViDoc, which is included after the break.
