Following many months of rumors and speculation, Sony has finally unveiled a premium subscription service for Playstation Network. The premium service, known as Playstation Plus, will be an entirely optional service that gives subscribers exclusive access to specific features and content. Furthermore, they will receive early access to demos and enjoy discounts in the Playstation Store. A 12-month subscription plan will be available later this month for $49.99, with a 3-month subscription running $17.99. Sony confirmed that the first 3 months will be free.
