Having released a map pack, a new game mode and a pack containing additional weapons and player models for online multiplayer over the recent months, developer 2K Games has announced that it will be releasing new downloadable content for Bioshock 2 that focuses on providing players with additional single-player challenges. The DLC package, which is known as the “Protector Trials”, will be released on August 3rd. It will be available for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 at a price of $4.99 in the Playstation Store or 400 Microsoft points on Xbox Live.
Players will once again take on the role of the iconic Big Daddy as it is tasked with protecting the Little Sister from waves of attacks as she attempts to gather ADAM. The action will be set in six locations that were also found in the game itself, and players will be able to unlock new collectibles or achievements by completing the challenges.
2K Games also announced that it will continue to release downloadable content that is aimed at extending the single-player experience of the game. The company indicates that the package of DLC following the “Protector Trials” will focus on expanding the overall narrative and generally extend the lore and fiction of Rapture. A release window for this additional DLC was not indicated.
So it is just trials. Well I will pass it up. I kinda also have to anyways since there is no mention of a PC release.
I was a little dissapointed as well… would have liked them to expand the game with some single-player mission or a story driven mini-campaign as a ‘regular’ Big Daddy or something
