In response to the highly popular Professor Layton series for the Nintendo DS, Konami has unveiled a new puzzle/adventure title known as Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights. The game is being developed for the Nintendo 3DS, and is stated as being scheduled for a release somewhere in Spring 2011 in Japan. This makes it likely that the title will be released alongside the 3DS, or shortly after the new handheld is launched. It is currently unclear if Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights will also be released in Western territories.

The game will feature the eponymous Doctor Lautrec, his assistant Sophie, and a pet-monkey named Kiki as they attempt to solve mysteries in 19th century Paris. The game will feature an entirely voiced script, and also includes some form of battle mechanics, though these have not yet been detailed by Konami.
