After almost a year of waiting, some PS3 owners finally got their hands on Mass Effect 2…only for it to delete their save file(s). Several users have reported that the entirety of the save data has been corrupted, with Bioware reportedly aware of the issue…just not how to fix it.

“Just to make it clear, we are aware of this issue and are working to understand what is occurring and how we can fix it.” said Chris Priestly, Community Manager at Bioware, responding to complaints. “If you are encountering this issue, please provide details about your PS3 and your play-through. Thanks everyone.”

Here’s hoping the issue is fixed soon, otherwise players will have to go through the extra annoyance of backing up all of their save data just to be safe.
