Today, the organization behind the annual Indie Music Cancer Drive have announced the artists that will be featured on the “Songs for the Cure ’11” albums. Songs for the Cure has been an annual fundraiser in which popular composers and remixers of well-known videogame tunes get together and offer a compilation of their work in exchange for a nominal donation to the American Cancer Society. Songs for the Cure ’11 will be launched on March 29th.
This year, a total of forty artists will be featured on a total of three albums. These artists include C418 (Minecraft), Danny Baranowsky (Super Meat Boy), Alexander Brandon (Deus Ex), djpretzel (OverClocked Remix), and Wilbert Roget, II (Monkey Island 2). The full list of artists is available at the Songs for the Cure website.
The three albums will be available at $5 each, but can also be bought as a bundle for only $10. All proceeds will be donated directly to the American Cancer Society. The organisers have indicated they are aiming to raise at least $10,000 before the end of the next month. Those who are interested in pre-ordering the albums, or donating to the cause, can find more information here.
