Today, Harmonix issued a press release which announced that Rock Band 3, which was released in October 2010, will now be available at a price of $19.99 for the Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. The move is most likely the result of the dwindling music / rhythm genre.
Though Rock Band 3 was met with a very positive critical reception, the game has failed to move more units across all platforms combined than Dance Central, an Xbox 360-exclusive that has also been developed by Harmonix. More than 1.2 million copies of Dance Central were sold by February 2011.
Rock Band 3 was the first title to introduce ‘Pro’ modes for each of the primary peripherals, allowing players to use fully functional instruments while playing the game.
