IndustryGamers.com reports that Blizzard has announced it is ready to release the third expansion to World of Warcraft in China next month. The seven months between the Western release of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and the Chinese release will be the fastest in the history of the game. Earlier expansions that were released in China either followed 8 months (World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade) or 23 months (World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King) later than their Western counterparts.
In the past, Blizzard has been forced to make significant adaptations to their releases to ensure they adhere to the strict regulations imposed by the Chinese governments. References to Undead beings, Demons, and mutilated bodies, had to be removed from the game.
Blizzard has not made a statement regarding specific differences between the Chinese version and the Western release.
