While many internal studios and many more employees got the axe as part of Activision’s recent layoffs, one group that managed to survive, albeit not completely attacked, was DJ Hero creator FreestyleGames. The company did reportedly lose 35 of their employees, but were kept active within the parent publisher.
“[We] will continue [our] strong partnership with Activision,” FreestyleGames creative director Jamie Jackson commented, adding, “We’d like to thank the team, our fans, the media and the video game industry at large for their support during this period…Although we will be really sorry to lose members of the Freestyle Games family we have no doubt that their talents will be in high demand throughout the industry
