The World Joyland theme park opened just in time for Summer in China, bearing more than a passing resemblance to some lucrative Blizzard IP. Dominated by two sections, one fantasy and one science fiction, familiar looking characters and designs from World of Warcraft and Starcraft are almost recreated into amusement landmarks. Renamed into “Terrain of Magic” and “Universe of Starship” respectively, the attractions make up the majority of the 148 acre park, and cost $31 million to construct. We’re assuming licensing costs would have made that figure significantly larger.
