Prospective PSP fans in Europe are getting a WiFi-less model of the handheld, and Nintendo has followed up with a similarly basic hardware revision to the Wii. The “Wii Family Edition” will debut for the Holiday season, and include all features of previous models save for backwards compatibility with the Gamecube (meaning both game disc incompatibility and a lack of controller ports for the system). The new console will be bundled with copies of Wii Sports and Wii Party, as well as a Wiimote with Wii Motion Plus and a Nunchuk controller. No price has been announced yet.

  1. Stupid. Nintendo should be spending money on localizing games to bring in sales and marketing to make sure those games are selling instead of pissing money in the wind. The Wii sales have been lacking due in part because of a lack of quality software. I know three major titles Nintendo can publish right now that are in popularity and another six that could also bring in sales.
