Split/Second-developer Black Rock Studio officially closed its doors today, after Disney confirmed in July that the studio would be closed. Earlier this year, the studio was already forced to lay off approximately 100 employees, but as of today, the final 40 employees who remained with the company have also lost their jobs.
Eurogamer reports that an unnamed source revealed that the studio had been working on a title known as Champions Alliance, which would have been akin to titles such as Defence of the Ancients and League of Legends. According to this source, pre-production for the game had just finished when Disney announced it would be closing down the studio. It is currently unclear what will happen to the Champions Alliance IP.
