On January 9th, 2012, the character of Meta Knight will be effectively banned from competitive play in U.S. Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournaments under the Unity Ruleset 2.0 by Smashboards.com. The vote was calculated after a trial tournament was held to test the balance of the character, largely dismissed by dedicated players due to his speed and aerial abilities frequently leading to cheap monopolies on air and (in particular) ledge combat. Prior to the announcement of Meta Knight’s ban, many tournaments and players used additional, self-imposed gameplay regulations to balance the character’s effectiveness.

  1. I gave up Brawl sometime in 2009 because of various reasons and one was because of balance. Another reason was the promise of good online and that failed absolutely horrible.

Also, I thought him, Ike and Pit were banned at some point in time before cause they are all broken as hell.

I want the gameplay of Melee with some fixes they implemented in Brawl like CF being able to redirect his Falcon Punch in mid air and tweaks to Yoshi. They nerfed Sheik and Marth pretty bad and made a few other changes that should be either restored or fixed in the new games for the WiiU and 3DS.
