Square Enix Discusses Requirement for ‘Final Fantasy VII’ Remake
27 Jun, 2012
During Square Enix’s annual shareholder’s meeting, CEO Yoichi Wada reportedly described the ultimate condition needed for the oft demanded remake of Final Fantasy VII. According to the transcribed Q&A portion of the meeting (via Andriasang), the publisher will remake its seminal RPG only after making a game that exceeds that level of quality. Wada admitted to thinking that the current leg of the Final Fantasy series has yet to live up to VII‘s standards, and remaking it at this point would mean the end of the franchise as a whole.
