The Marvel heroes join the casts of ‘The Lord of the Rings’, ‘Harry Potter’, and ‘Star Wars’ with the announcement of their own LEGO adaptation in the works at Warner Brothers and TT Games. Featured on the February cover of Game Informer (above), LEGO Marvel Super Heroes tells the tale of Nick Fury assembling earth’s mightiest to battle Loki and the planet-devourer Galactus. More than 100 characters from Marvel canon will be unlockable throughout the game, which will release alongside a new line of Marvel-themed LEGO toys.
“We’re very excited to bring a myriad of classic Marvel characters to life in LEGO form for some fun, family-friendly gameplay in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes,” said Tom Stone, managing director, TT Games Publishing. “Players will brave the ultimate mission to save the world as they explore famous landmarks in LEGO New York and take the adventure beyond Earth to iconic locations in the Marvel Universe.”
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will launch this fall on the Nintendo DS, 3DS, PC, PS3, PS Vita, Wii U, and Xbox 360. We can’t wait for the PR team to have the excuse to plop Stan Lee in front of a camera for a pre-release interview.
