Crytek USA CEO and former Vigil general manager David Adams has announced his intention to bid for the Darksiders IP via a twitter message. “Going to bid on Darksiders IP. Put 7 years of heart and soul into that franchise, and I think it belongs at home with its creators.”
Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli announced Adams and core members of his Vigil team would form Crytek USA after THQ failed to receive bids on the Vigil studio at their IP auction back in January. Yerli also told GamesBeat that Crytek “didn’t want to continue with Darksiders 3, since that doesn’t fit with our strategy”
THQ sold the majority of their IPs and studios in January, however the remaining properties including Darksiders, Red Faction, MX and Homeworld are expected to be sold by May.
