Eurogamer has reported that the Alone in the Dark and Test Drive Unlimited developer Eden Games, which was put into liquidation by local authorities at the end of January 2013, has been officially closed. A large number of Eden Games’ staff were fired in May 2011, prompting remaining staff to go on strike, although since then some grouped together and formed new developer Blossom Minds.
In May 2012, Eden’s parent company Atari announced that Eden Games was “in the process of being disposed of”, although it was stated the developer had not been officially shuttered. Atari did clarify that the studio was being prepared for “divestment”, which did suggest a possible sale or closure was going to happen.
