The Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband (VZBV) has filed a claim against Valve’s Steam resale policy in the German court system, according to Games.on.net.

The German consumer advocacy group claims that since Steam does not have an option for users to resell their purchased games, Valve is breaking a ruling made last year by the Court of Justice of the European Union, which ruled that customers have the right to resell digitally purchased games.

“A date of the trial is not fixed, we hope it will take place this year,” VZBV representative Eva Hoffschulte said, in part. “Until then, it is not realistic that Valve will change their policy. But our chance to win the process is very good and that will really be an improvement for consumers: then they can sell their games to others.”
