Ubisoft has announced it has signed a deal with Hasbro which will allow it to create console games based on Hasbro’s properties. The games confirmed in the deal include Monopoly, Scrabble (US and Canada), Trivial Pursuit, Risk, Battleship and Cranium.
“Ubisoft’s leadership and expertise in the console gaming space will help support Hasbro’s strategy of bringing consumers engaging play experiences with our brands across multiple platforms,” Hasbro’s senior VP and GM for digital gaming, Mark Blecher said in a statement.
The previous rights holder was Electronic Arts and created a range of video games based on Hasbro’s properties in 2007. The last console game based on those brands from EA was Family Game Night 4: The Game Show and Trivial Pursuit: Bet You Know It for Wii in 2011. EA signed a deal with Hasbro last month to create mobile titles based on its properties for the next four years.
