Citing sources familiar with the situation, Polygon reports that a week after Andrew Wilson’s promotion to CEO, Electronic Arts has begun making further changes to its current executive structure.
Vice president of the EA Games label, Patrick Söderlund, will take over Wilson’s former role as head of EA Sports. Frank Gibeau, who has served as president of EA Labels – EA Games, EA Sports, Maxis and BioWare – since August 2011, will run EA’s mobile division. Gibeau will also take up the position as head of Origin, although it is unclear if he will retain his position as the head of EA Labels. This news reportedly came from one of EA’s company-wide “town hall” meetings today.
