Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s vice president of worldwide public relations has confirmed to CVG a round of layoffs has hit Infinite Crisis developer Turbine. Warner Bros. acquired the studio in 2010.
“As part of our normal business process, we’re routinely looking at the strategic alignment of our company,” Sklar told CVG, in part. “Unfortunately, in order for us to invest in growth areas at Turbine, we have to eliminate some positions. These are always tough decisions, which we don’t approach lightly, but it’s crucial that Turbine is structured in a way that reflects the current and coming marketplace.”
Warner Bros. did not specify how much the Turbine’s workforce will be reduced. The Lord of the Rings Online developer employed over 400 people until it cut its staff in October 2012 due to “fluctuating market conditions”.
