According to a report from Eurogamer, Far Cry 4‘s setting will feature higher elevation and lower temperatures than previous entries in the series: the Himalayas.
Citing people “familiar with the project”, Eurogamer reports that there will be more to the new region than just snow, with the game featuring a number of environments. Far Cry 4‘s gameplay is expected to remain similar to Far Cry 3, also featuring outposts for the player to liberate. The new location will also allow for new gameplay features, which Eurogamer believes includes the ability to ride elephants.
Eurogamer’s sources also claim the title is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC, and Ubisoft is currently planning to announce the title officially at E3 this June. Eurogamer also says the publisher plans to release the game during its next fiscal year, which ends March 31st, 2015.
Ubisoft has responded to the report, stating: “We have no comments on rumors or speculation.”
