Stéphane D’Astous, former general manager of Eidos Montreal and Ubisoft Montreal director of operations, has joined Hibernum Creations as its new chief operating officer.
Hibernum Creations is a montreal-based developer and has made several games as well as contributions on titles such as Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Assassin’s Creed 2. D’Astous joined Ubisoft in 2003, and under his supervision grew from just 450 people to 1450 people in three years. In January 2007, he became general manager of Eidos Montreal building up the team that would move on to create Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Tomb Raider.
“This is a great day for Hibernum,” said Hibernum CEO Frederick Faubert, in a statement, in part. “As we continue to position the studio as a top game developer and brand creator, the arrival of Stéphane will make everyone better in the studio.”
D’Astous said his decision to join Hibernum came from his growing desire to “join the mobile side of our industry”, as Hibernum’s IP have all been made for mobile or social platforms.
