Oculus VR has announced via Twitter that Valve’s Aaron Michaels has joined the company.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Aaron Nicholls to the team,” the company said. “He’ll be working out of the Bellevue R&D lab with Atman and crew.”
“It’s been exciting working on VR at Valve,” Nicholls said on Twitter, in part. “Can’t wait to continue working on the future with Atman, Michael, and the Oculus crew tomorrow. Moves like this are always a little scary, but I’m very excited”
Nicholls move to the company follows last week’s news that Valve programmer Michael Abrash also departed to work at Oculus.
“I’m tremendously excited to join Oculus, and when I think back, it’s astonishing how unlikely the path to this moment is,” he said, in part. “I now fully expect to spend the rest of my career pushing VR as far ahead as I can”.
Facebook also announced last week that it is acquiring Oculus VR in a deal worth $2 billion.
