Bandai Namco has announced that the beta servers for its free-to-player Ridge Racer Driftopia will be shut down on August 15th.
“Bandai Namco Games Europe S.A.S announced today that Ridge Racer Driftopia’s open beta will be finished in 60 days,” the publisher said. “The leading developer and publisher wanted to take this opportunity to thank all its players for their permanent support and dedication! All the feedbacks will be taken into account for the upcoming projects.”
It remains unclear if the title will be released in full, or if the servers will remain offline.
Ridge Racer Driftopia was announced in April 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Windows PC. It entered beta for PS3 in August and hit Steam Early Access in September. It was developed by Bugbear Entertainment, the studio behind Ridge Racer Unbounded.
