According to a report by Deadline, Legendary TV has signed a deal with Cyan Worlds to create a TV series based on Myst.
The original Myst game put players in control of the Stranger, who uses a special book to travel to the island of Myst, which was home to portals to other worlds. The player could then explore and solve the game’s puzzles at their own pace.
The success of Myst resulted in four direct video game sequels as well as other spin-off titles and novels.
A tablet tie-in app will also be released with the series, according to the report, however it remains uncertain if it will be a game or a second-screen experience. Rand and Robyn Miller, brothers and co-developers of the Myst series will reportedly be “creatively involved” with the series as well.
