Electronic Arts has confirmed a small number of jobs have been cut at its Montreal Studio and the Rocket Squid studio has reportedly been closed.
“We made a staffing change in our Montreal studio to align with our current development and service plans,” EA said in a statement issued to Gamasutra, in part.”A small number of employees were impacted, and we are working closely with each of them to ensure the best transition possible.”
Gamasutra also cites a source, who says that the layoffs are a sign that the company is planning close its Montreal Mobile branch. EA did not comment on the status of its Montreal efforts, other than: “these changes do not impact our current development plans.”
