THQ’s Executive Vice President of Core Games Danny Bilson has stated in an interview with Computerandvideogames.com that the company currently has a concept for a Project Natal-based game that it is aimed specifically at the core-audience of the Xbox 360. However, since expected development costs range between 30 to 40 million USD, Bilson added that the feasibility of this project is highly contingent on the installbase of the technology. Furthermore, he stated that the company does not have the required experience to bring such a project to success at this time, so that “maybe in a couple of years we’ll do it.”
Though most major publishers have announced that they are working on games utilizing the Project Natal motion controller, Bilson’s statements are the first indication that third-party developers consider the technology to be suitable for high-profile core games.
