Today, Square Enix has announced that it will reboot the legendary Tomb Raider franchise in the next few years. The ninth installment in the long-running franchise will be developed by Crystal Dynamics, which also developed earlier installment in the series such as Legend (2006), Anniversary (2007), Underworld (2008), and this year’s Guardian of Light.
Square Enix did not provide information on a tentative release window for the game, nor specified on which platforms the game will be released. However, it was indicated that the new iteration of the franchise would start off with a “young and inexperienced” Lara in the “journey of an ordinary woman who finds out just how far she must go in order to stay alive.”
