Last week, MTV Networks announced that it will be opening a new studio known as 345 Games, which will develop games based on franchises owned by the entertainment network. The studio will be headed by Daniel Yang, who is also the Senior VP for Strategy and Business Development at MTV Networks. As one of its first projects, the studio will develop a sequel to 2010’s Deadliest Warrior: The Game.

Deadliest Warrior: Legends will feature a new set of warriors from various time periods, new gameplay modes, an overhauled campaign, and an improved projectile system. Legends is set for a release in mid-July on Playstation Network and the Xbox Live Arcade. The game will be available for $10, or 800 MSP.

Another project on which 345 Games will be working on Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon, a game that will tie in with the launch of the second season of ‘Ugly Americans.’ The game will feature 4-player cooperative play in a 2D side-scrolling environment. The game will be penned by writers who have also been involved in the television series, and actors from the series will provide voiceovers for the various characters. Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon will be released in August, at a similar price as Deadliest Warrior: Legends.

  1. So they let go of Harmonix so they can make hits like The Deadliest Warrior… I can’t see an Ugly America game being good.
