Really, the only surprise here is that it took so long. One of the most pervasive brands ever conceived is heading to multiple smartphone devices with Pokemon Iie Tap (directly translated as Pokemon Say Tap?*). According to a GamesRadar translation of the official Japanese press release, players will “tap on Pokemon trading cards to the beat of a song from the anime.”
The game is expected for most iOS devices, as well as Android phones using the 2.1 version of the OS. Pokemon Iie Tap marks the first time that an official Nintendo copyrighted product will appear on smartphones. It has currently only been confirmed for Japan.
