UPDATE: In an interview with Australia’s Financial Review, filmmaker and studio owner George Miller revealed both that his company – KMM Studios – had purchased the game rights to Brendan McNamara’s next project, and its tentative title: “Whore of the Orient”. (via GamePro)
Brendan McNamara isn’t letting a complete lack of popularity stop him from making games. The former head of the now dissolved Team Bondi, which was picked apart and sold following reports of aggressive crunch schedules and worker mistreatment, is shopping a pitch for his next game around to multiple producers. According to McNamara, the game will center around a portrayal of “The Greatest Untold Story of the 20th Century.”
“A lot of people who were working on L.A. Noire have gone across to KMM, some of them to be working on some of the film projects. A lot of the art and animation guys went across.” McNamara explained, “Some of the people have gone to work in different Rockstar studios. I’m personally just writing some new stuff now, which I’ve been pitching around for the last couple of weeks. Hopefully I’ll have something to announce on that pretty soon.”
He continued, “There are a few people interested…I’ve still got to do the paperwork.”
In terms of continuing to use the MotionScan tech so prominently featured in L.A. Noire, McNamara stated that he definitely wants to incorporate the feature even deeper into production, especially since the technology has been expanded to feature full body motion capture.
“I own some of the shares, and some other people own some of the shares. It’s a limited company, and there are some other investors in that, too. Hopefully towards the end of that we’ll have the full body stuff up and running. That could be pretty interesting, too.” said McNamara.

Thoughts on the game’s title, EGs? With Miller’s studio owning the rights, do you think the designers that fled to KMM after Team Bondi will be tasked to work again under McNamara? Give us your thoughts in the comments section!
I wonder what that story is, I like a good story especially if it’s a ‘what if’ story like Freedom Fighters has or the film The League(of extraordinary gentlemen).
I only liked LA Noire’s dialogue parts, I sold it to a friend not long ago because I just got bored of it, gameplay is just ‘dull’ and repetitive to me, the faces and voice acting is so good though I hope GTA and Red Dead games use this tech from now on aswell.
Looking forward and full body motion capture? I thought games used this since about the first Metal Gear Solid game?(just not very detailed back then for so many reasons =P).
