A sequel to 2006’s Bully may be riding on the coattails of Max Payne 3‘s release, Rockstar’s Vice President Dan Houser told Gamasutra earlier today. While the Vancouver branch of the studio still “adores” the prep-school set adventure, scheduling concerns have kept a sequel from the development table. The completion of the latest installment in the noir-action Max Payne franchise may just give them the gap they need to start work on a followup.
“We didn’t want to start doing the Bully sequel instantly,” explains Houser. “Contrary to a lot of people, we like to take a little bit of time at the end of a game before starting a sequel.”
Then again, Max Payne 3 was also something that Rockstar Vancouver had “been meaning to start for a while”, so the countdown for new information on the possible Bully sequel could be a long one.

Is the world of Bully one you’d like to return to, EGs? Would you want to see Jimmy Hopkins move onto higher institutes of learning for the sequel, say, an Ivy League campus? Give us your thoughts below!
I would love a Bully sequel. The first one is still one of my favorite Rockstar games.
No… GTA V had better follow Max Payne 3 =P
I didn’t play bully, I heard it’s a fun game but I just didn’t like the look of it.
GTA has gone towards the realistic, where Bully is in a great Pulp Fiction setting. I am way more excited for an Ivy League Bully than GTAV (GTA4 just didnt play well).
