GamePolitics reports that 14 video games will be featured in the New York Museum of Modern Art, as part of the Applied Design exhibition. It is the first time that video games will become part of the Museum of Modern Art collection, and a full list of the titles featured there is available after the jump.
The exhibition Applied Design will be opened on March 2nd, and run until January 31st, 2014. The full list of titles to be featured is as follows:
- Pac-Man (1980)
- Tetris (1984)
- Another World (1991)
- Myst (1993)
- SimCity 2000 (1994)
- vib-ribbon (1999)
- The Sims (2000)
- Katamari Damacy (2004)
- EVE Online (2003)
- Dwarf Fortress (2006)
- Portal (2007)
- flOw (2006)
- Passage (2008)
- Canabalt (2009)
Nine of these will be playable at the museum, with Eve Online, Myst, The Sims, SimCity 2000 and Dwarf Fortress being featured as video. The Museum of Modern Art has announced that it hopes to grow the total number of video games in their collection to 40 over the coming period.
