Following rumors regarding the existence of a new collection of Metal Gear Solid titles, Konami has confirmed to Polygon that Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection is slated for release on the Playstation 3 this June. More details regarding the contents of the collection are included after the jump.
Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will contain the original Metal Gear Solid and the associated VR Missions, as well as HD remakes of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Furthermore, the collection will contain the Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition and two digital graphic novels by the Australian artist Ashley Wood.
According to Tomoyuki Tsuboi, the President of Digital Entertainment at Konami, the Legacy Collection is primarily meant for players new to the franchise, so that they can experience all the titles in the franchise with one package. It has not been announced in which territories the Collection will be made available, or at what price.
