Earlier this week, a Twitter message posted on the official NBA Jam Twitter page teased a new entry in the over-the-top series saying: “Retweet if you’re ready for a new NBA Jam!”
EA has since told Joystiq that the Twitter post came from unauthorized use of the account. “Yesterday, there was unauthorized use of the @nbajam Twitter handle,” the EA representative said. “We do not have any announcements to make about NBA Jam at this time.”
The most recent NBA Jam title was released in 2010, with a follow up enhanced version called NBA Jam: On Fire Edition arriving in 2011. The series has since been dormant.
