From Software has named Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Myazaki its president, Gamasutra reports.
Miyazaki first joined From Software in 2004, where he would later direct and create Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls. He was in a supervisor role during the development of Dark Souls II while he was working on another title.
Miyazaki’s promotion came as part of several personnel changes throughout the company, including Demon’s Souls producer Masanori Takeuchi moving into a senior managing director role.
A few weeks ago From Software was acquired by Japanese publisher Kadokawa, who first announced its plans to purchase a majority stake in the company in April. From Software will now work as a Kadokawa Games subsidiary and work with the publisher to develop its games and also create new IP.
