Samsung is working on its own virtual reality headset and plans to beat the Oculus Rift and Sony’s Project Morpheus to the market, Engadget reports.
Engadget sources claim that the Galaxy mobile device maker already has prototype versions of the headset, which are powered by Galaxy devices and have been given to some developers. The final consumer model will run on unannounced new Galaxy phones and tablets.
The hardware reportedly features an OLED screen, and Samsung is aiming for a price point below both the Oculus Rift and Sony’s Project Morpheus. According to Engadget’s sources, the headset will support Android titles, however a list of games is not available yet.
