Neversoft is officially no more, and has now fully merged with fellow Activision studio Infinity Ward.
To mark their last day in the office, Neversoft employees burned an effigy of the studio’s iconic eyeball logo. Additionally, Neversoft founder Joel Jewett gave each employee a knife with the studio’s logo engraved on it.
Activision announced in May that Neversoft would be merged with Infinity Ward, and the new “super-studio” would keep the Infinity Ward name and logo.
“As you know, Neversoft and Infinity Ward teamed up for the development of Call of Duty: Ghosts,” Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg said at the time of the announcement, in part. “And through that process, it became clear that the two studios have very complementary skill sets. Between these two excellent studios, it seemed like a single ‘super-studio’ could emerge.”
