Alien: Isolation has received a free update adding two new difficulty levels to the game.
The difficulties, Novice and Nightmare, come in response from requests from the community to allow for more exploration and more challenges.
In the Nightmare difficulty, players will “Explore the world of Sevastopol with a motion tracker featuring a damaged display and undependable information.” In-game resources will also be even more limited, map systems are offline and the synthetics and survivors will be even more aggressive and deadly. An upgraded AI for the Alien makes the monster “more adaptive, learning from your tactics with chilling speed and with intensified senses that will give you no second chances…”
Novice however will offer players more resources and ammunition, synthetics and survivors will be less troublesome and the Alien will be more easily distracted and less aggressive in its hunting.
