ps3-outsells-wii

Both Sony and Nintendo have something to celebrate this holiday season, as both of their home consoles have hit major fiscal milestones in their native land of the rising sun. According to financial monitoring firm Enterbrain, the Playstation 3 has now officially sold beyond 4 million units in the country, with the Wii pushing 9 million units off shelves. The Wii’s holiday is set to continue to remain steady with sales from New Super Mario Brothers Wii, and Final Fantasy XIII‘s region-exclusive launch will provide an expected sales boost to the PS3 through the new year. The Xbox 360 still sits far beyond the competition with only 1.1 million units sold in the region.
