Aaron Greenberg, Director of Product Management for the Xbox 360 at Microsoft has just confirmed that the Xbox 360 Elite will be price at $300 MSRP to combat Sony’s Ps3 slim, effective this Friday. With the $100 price drop, they are omitting the HDMI cable with was previously bundled with the unit enabling “flexibility to consumers who can then decide which type of cable they want for their specific gaming and TV screen set-up.” The Xbox 360 Pro with a 60gig HDD will also have a price reduction to be priced down to $249 and will be available while supplies last

Social networking is in these days, and Microsoft is entering the band wagon with their announcement of Facebook and Twitter for Xbox Live in the past E3. At the E3 press conference, Microsoft stated that both Twitter and Facebook will be for Gold members only; reports now say otherwise as there will be a free trail version for silver members.  This service will be available later this year.
