Yesterday, one of the most famous and best-received Western RPGs of the last decade was made available on Valve Corporation’s digital-distribution platform Steam. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was developed by Bioware and was published by LucasArts in 2003. The game was released on the PC and first-generation Xbox. More details can be found after the link.
The story of the game is set four millenia before the events of the films and how the decision of the players is key to how it unfolds, to side with either the light side or dark side of the “Force.” The game features a highly detailed dialogue system that reflects this distinction between the light and dark side. Knights of the Old Republic received numerous awards for both the story and dialogue system. According to Metacritic.com, the game is listed as the 7th best first-generation Xbox game, and the 19th best PC game of all time.
The game, considered by many to be one of the best and most influential games from the previous generation, is now available on Steam for roughly 10 USD or 9 Euro. More information can be found here.
