In an interview released earlier today, Microsoft’s President of Entertainment & Devices Division Robbie Bach revealed that the motion-control camera Project Natal will be available during the holiday season later this year. Furthermore, he went on to reveal a new addition to the Xbox Live Arcade, known as the Game Room.
In line with the original concept for which the Xbox Live Arcade was designed, Game Room will allow players to use their Avatars to navigate an online environment, somewhat similar in concept to the Home software available on the Playstation 3, in which they can play classic arcade games. Bach stated that “[t]here’s a generation of people [...] who grew up with a set of games like Centipede. [...] Game Room is the idea of bringing that back to the market, and bringing that to a very broad audience.” The Game Room will be available for both the Xbox 360 and PC and is being developed by Krome Studios.
The Game Room will allow players to purchase games for prices ranging between 240 and 400 Microsoft, which equals roughly $3 to $5. Players will also be able to play a one-off game for 40 points, roughly 50 cents. Games purchased on the Xbox 360 version of the Game Room will also be playable on the PC, and vice versa.
A trailer for the service can be found after the jump.

Roughly twenty years ago, a group of developers at Capcom were working on a project that was designed to combine elements from the popular Megaman series and Sector Z. The game they were working on was initially known as Dark Rift, though the project was later renamed to Dark Void.
Though the game was eventually shelved, following the arrival of the SNES, Capcom recently announced that the original would be remade and released as a downloadable 8-bit title for the Nintendo DS to complement the release of Dark Void for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. In fact, the game had to be recreated from scratch, as the original files were lost over time. The game follows Rusty, a human originally born in the Void, who has to take up a jetpack to defend Earth from the Watchers.
The game is now available for download in the DSi shop for 500 points. A set of screenshots for the game can be found after the jump.

Today in the US and next month in Europe, DSi owners will be able to download an arcade-perfect port of the Don Bluth animated classic, Dragon’s Lair. With any luck, it’ll work better than the 3DO version and we can look forward to many an insta-death but this time without popping quarter after quarter into an arcade machine.

Capcom continues its exploration of its distant past with the sequel to its surprising retro hit, Megaman 9 with the understandably titled Megaman 10. Still sporting the 8-bit style graphics and soundtrack, players will return the blue bomber to the series’ famous mixture of addictive gameplay and brutal difficulty in the year 20XX. Those bots that don’t just become sicker and sicker from the robot flu have begun going on fevered rampages across the land, calling out Megaman once again to set things right. Megaman 10 will be returning to Xbox Live Arcade, the Playstation Store, and Wiiware, with no set release date yet revealed.

Several months after celebrating its twentieth ‘birthday’, the Nintendo Game Boy was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame at Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York last week. The Nintendo Game Boy was first sold in 1989, and was replaced by the Game Boy Color in 1998. Despite the obvious superiority of the Game Boy Color, the older Game Boy had such a large installed base, that games compatible with both handhelds would be sold for many more years. The last Game Boy compatible game was released in 2002, in Japan, giving the handheld an effective life span of over 13 years.
