Follow on the heels of the news that EA is closing down Pandemic, Activision Blizzard has released a statement that it is in fact starting a new studio with industry veterans Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey at the helm. These two former EA employees both worked at Visceral Games on the critically aclaimed horror/action game Dead Space. The studio will be located in Foster City, California.

The new studio will be known as Sledgehammer Games and is currently developing a currently unannounced game.

  1. Why would you want to work for Activision knowing that they want to take all the fun out of creating video game?

  2. So, this is where the WoW money is being funneled to. Good to see that there are new developers being created when there are a lot that are being closed down, merged, bought out, or are struggling to survive. I really now want to see what game they are making.

  3. All major publishers are money grubbing bastards. The only difference is that Activision is HORRIBLE at hiding this fact.
