Ubisoft recently announced the first weeks sales of Assassin’s Creed II at 1.6 million units sold across all territories. The new entry in the franchise is outselling it’s predecessor by 32%, a lofty achievement considering the original Assassin’s Creed still remains the fastest selling new IP in the United States. The game’s favor with critics should only strengthen its appeal as the Holiday season approaches at the end of this week with Black Friday.

I think it was meant to be a trilogy from the very beginning no matter what happened.

      • Not if it tanked. Series have been cut short all the time. Xenosaga was originally going to be 6 games and it was to span into the Playstation 3.

I guess, but it the first didn’t do too terrible. Look at Mirror’s Edge, it did ok and they are working on a sequel. Dead Space was guaranteed a sequel no problem.

Look at No More Heroes, that didn’t tank, but it didn’t have the best of sales, and look it is getting an actual sequel.
