Speaking with Gamasutra, a PR-officer of the Korean MMO-developer NCSoft revealed that while no games are currently in production, the company is actively exploring options of bringing a MMO to consoles. He also stated that the company sees potential in multi-platform MMOs, but since no games are in production yet, exclusivity is not ruled out at this time. Furthermore, he added that while Final Fantasy XI has proven that console-based MMOs can be succesfull, it is hard for NCSoft to test this market itself due to the relatively small market for consoles in Korea.
In 2007, NCSoft announced that it would be working on a console-MMO exclusively for the Playstation 3. Earlier this year however, reports surfaced that the agreement between Sony and NCSoft had stalled.
