The Battlefield series has always been a popular hardcore staple for Electronic Arts. The producer recently teamed up with the game’s development studio, DICE, to announce that the latest entry, Battlefield 1943, is the fastest title to sell 1 million units on Xbox Live Arcade. No word was released from the company on the sales figures from the game’s Playstation Network version, but are expectedly high. PC players can expect to join in on their own version of the fray soon.

“The reception of Battlefield 1943 continues to amaze us, even months after the game was released,” says Gordon Van Dyke, Producer on Battlefield 1943. “Being the fastest game to reach this milestone is an incredible achievement. The game has set a new standard for what can be done in the downloadable games category. It’s fantastic to see how gamers have recognized the value that the game delivers for just $15. It is another great entry point into the Battlefield franchise.”

  1. Now if only DICE had made BF 1943 a full fledged sequel to 1942 for the PC. I’m still bitter :(…
